History

Students are probably drawn to History by curiosity. At Wabash College we encourage this historical imagination though mutual examination of oral and written primary sources as well as scholarly interpretations of the past. The Wabash History department is dedicated to promoting the study of history of diverse peoples, with important emphasis on global and cultural historical methods.

Students are encouraged not only to study Historians, but to accumulate the skills to BECOME Historians. In this light, the department follows this series of goals:

A. Content
B. The Craft of History
C. Historical Thinking
D. Self-Expression
E. Self-Development
